Premiere Classe Bayeux, hotel in Bayeux

This Première Classe is just a 5 minute drive from highway N13 on the outskirts of Bayeux. It offers air-conditioned guest rooms with free Wi-Fi access and free private parking.

Clean, practical, comfortable, and bang in the middle of all the DDay sites. You can go a lot farther and do a lot worse. (I wish I could stay here next week but they're booked. The only other place I could find, an apartment, much more and they're charging me good money to rent sheets and towels--Welcome Our Liberators !

The property is gorgeous. The staff are wonderful and breakfast was excellent. The position of this hotel is perfect and it included (paid) parking. As we stayed for 5 nights with a car this was really a bonus, particularly when keeping the position of the hotel in mind.

FAQs about hotels in Bayeux

Rich History and Medieval Beauty

Bayeux is a medieval French town in the region of Lower Normandy, known for the 11th-century Bayeux Tapestry which depicts scenes from the conquest of England by William the Conquerer in 1066. Registered by UNESCO as ‘Memory of the World’, this historic tapestry is 70 metres long and gives us information about the way of life in the Middle Ages.

The Norman-Romanesque Notre Dame Cathedral has impressive stained glass windows, bas-relief sculptures and a crypt with 15th-century frescoes beneath its floor. Consecrated in 1077, this structure is the place where the Bayeux Tapestry was kept for about seven centuries.

Opened in 1864, the botanical garden of Bayeux, which is home to the popular Weeping Beech tree and about 400 more trees, is open daily for free. You can wander around the picturesque old part of the city or visit the vibrant city centre with the modern shops and restaurants.

Crossed by the Aure River and situated on the train route to Paris, Bayeux is 7 km from the coast of the English Channel and 20 km from Caen – Carpiquet Airport. Booking.com will help you find the right hotel, guest house or apartment in Bayeux and the city of Caen.

I am trying to update my review of La Cour Royale but the site is not letting me. I answered no breakfast - this was an answer to a Booking.com question and not a put down on the accommodation - it was a flat and I did not expect breakfast. I also put a rating of 5 out of ten for staff because this was a flat and I didn’t expect staff! I hope this clears this up. It was an excellent place to stay and would like to again.

The city is beautiful and easy to get around in by foot. We enjoyed seeing the Cathedral and The Tapestry as well as a couple restaurants and an awesome pastry shop. Taxi service is limited (allow plenty of time to await a taxi). Uber service did not exist.

Bayeux is a lovely town and very central to all of the D Day beaches and many other interesting places related to WW2. The town is not too big so a lot can be seen in a reasonable space of time. The British memorial cemetery there is one of the most poignant I visited.

Our tour of the D. day beaches was very interesting and moving. The Norte Dame Cathedral de Bayeux was a highlight of the city as well as the tour of the Tapestry. Restaurants were all outstanding. We would love to go back.

This hotel was very close to everything, easy walk to town. Beautiful house with lovely traditional features. Clean and comfortable room with a balcony and view to the cathedral. Parking was across the street in a car park but the host gave you a ticket so no fee for it. The room was a good size with a comfy bed and pillows. Tea and coffee was available in the room which is a bonus on France. The host is very friendly and helpful and can understand English which is always a bonus. Breakfast was traditional french.

The apartment was comfortable and large compared to other locations in France. The city of Bayeux was so quaint and we had excellent views looking down from the windows that opened. There were plenty of restaurants and pattiseries within walking distance too. My only caution to others is the staircase leading up to the apartment. It's a winding staircase that may not be easily maneuvered for some. We're energetic and carrying our luggage up the stairs was a workout.

This house is in a perfect location, is private and has its own parking. The inside is lovely and spacious. We walked everywhere. In the evenings when you settle in, this home is so quiet and peaceful. You’ll be able to relax and get a great night’s sleep after a day of touring. In our month of traveling France and staying at 11 BnBs, this was by far our favorite.

This was a great value. It is rated as a 2 Star, but it is better than many three and four stars I have stayed in. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train, 3 minutes to the cathedral, and 4 minutes to the Bayeux Tapestry. The restaurant on site is excellent. We ate there all three nights, it was one of the only restaurants open after 7:00 pm.
